We are pleased to now be able to offer a new electrotherapy alongside our current extensive treatment options.

The INDIBA machine is a non-invasive, pain-free treatment option that works on radiofrequency, with an electromagnetic current at a precise, evidence-based frequency of 448 kHz. This energy that passes through the body promotes tissue repair, reduces pain, and increases deep blood flow intensity and volume. This is essential to deliver nutrients and oxygen to the damaged tissues and promote tissue repair and regeneration.

INDIBA5What to expect if your dog is having INDIBA

The INDIBA offers a comfortable treatment that most patients will enjoy, with many falling asleep during the process.

This machine consists of a return plate made of flexible fabric that attaches to an area of the dog’s body and 2 electrodes, the Capacitive and a Resistive, which will be used according to the dog’s specific treatment.

In order for the current to pass through the body, the hair over the area of treatment needs to be wet, and a conductive gel is also applied. This is also necessary for the area where the return plate is attached.

This plate is attached to the machine via a wire for the duration of treatment. The signal will travel from an electrode (+) to the return plate (-) which closes the circuit and allows us to treat deeper tissues. The duration of treatment depends on the animal's condition and the number of areas needing treatment!

Who is the INDIBA suitable for?

INDIBA can be used on patients with either chronic or acute injuries or musculoskeletal conditions. This is due to the machine's ability to work with heat or without heat to produce the desired effect.

This modality is also suitable with patients that have been treated with stem cells or PRP.

How often should my dog have INDIBA therapy?

INDIBA treatments have accumulative effects, and the recommended treatment protocol is 6 sessions, usually delivered twice weekly for 3 weeks or weekly for 6 weeks. However, the veterinary physiotherapist will create a rehabilitation plan accordingly and tailored to the patient’s needs and condition treated.

INDIBA vs Laser, when to use/combination therapy

Both Laser and INDIBA offer unique and complementary effects that can benefit a wide variety of conditions in animals. Therefore, the veterinary physiotherapist will decide which one is more appropriate for the case presented according to the needs required by the patient and the condition being treated. Nevertheless, both might be used in combination during the same sessions to bring upon the most desired therapeutic effect for your pet.

Let’s look at their differences and identify their strengths

  • INDIBA2INDIBA’s technology stimulates blood flow to the treated areas, speeding the healing process by delivering cellular nutrients to the damaged area and removing waste products or toxins.
  • Laser therapy, on the other hand, enhances tissue healing by stimulating cellular activity with light, increasing ATP production which is the fuel of cells.
  • Both induce pain relief, the INDIBA by stimulating the body’s own response of endorphin release and the Laser by targeting the pain signaling.
  • Both also reduce inflammation, INDIBA by improving circulation to flush toxins in the built-up fluid away and the Laser by stimulating the lymphatic drainage and microcirculation to reduce edema (swelling).
  • INDIBA however, has proved to stimulate cell regeneration by regulating the process of stem cells, making it a highly effective and natural process of healing.
  • Moreover, INDIBA can indue muscle relaxation for those muscles in spasm and built-up tension due to the thermal properties combined with the healing therapeutic effects of the radiofrequency. This would be beneficial for patients with spinal neurological issues such as Lumbosacral Disease, which causes tension in back muscles with many trigger points and spasms, in addition to the pain within the spine caused from the degenerative nature of the disease, which can be treated with precise radiofrequency.
  • Laser therapy, however, can speed up the closure of open wounds by using a non-contact head. This is possible with the stimulation of ATP in the skin cells to regenerate.
